Afters classes run from 3:20 - 4:20pm. Pickup is at 4:20pm promptly in the back circle. Please stay in your car, pick up is similar to the end of school procedures. Please note the Afters monitor and school official need to stay until all children are picked up; in fairness to them, anyone who is late more than twice will be charged $30 per child per half hour (or part thereof) late. If you are excessively late more than once your child will be asked not to participate for the remainder of this session.
If a class is cancelled due to weather or teacher absence, it will be made up the week of 3/18/19. There will be ONE make up class per session.

There will be a $30 per child late fee for any registrations received after December 7, 2018. No refunds will be given after January 4, 2019 unless your class has been cancelled.

Your child is registered for the class you selected unless you receive notification regarding an oversubscribed or cancelled class. For an oversubscribed class, participants shalll be determined in the order of registration based on the time/date stamp on registration form and when payment is received. Some classes may give preference to 5th graders. Any student not selected will be contacted, allowed to register for other classes (with no late fee) and have preference in that class in a future session.
For a cancelled class, you may register for another class based on availability, without penalty, or you may receive a refund. All changes, or additions after registration ends, must be made in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org and will be based on class availability. It is the parents' responsibility to notify their child's teacher of any approved change to ensure the child is sent to the correct class.
Students are expected to be polite and accord Afters instructors with the same degree of respect and compliance as they do to their own Parkway teachers. Parents will be notified of instances of inappropriate behavior that are disruptive or create an unsafe situation. If a student is disruptive in class, the instructor or an Afters committee representative may remove the child from class and the parent/caregiver will be called to pick him/her up. If the negative behavior continues, the instructor, in consultation with the Afters Coordinator, may decide that the child cannot continue to participate in that class. Refunds will not be issued when a child is dismissed for inappropriate behavior. Please remember that the Afters program is a service provided to you by the PTA, and all Parkway School standards of behavior must be followed and respected.
PARKWAY AFTERS PROGRAM WAIVER
I, the undersigned parent and/or legal guardian of an enrolled student at Parkway School, do hereby give my permission and approval for his/ her participation in the registered program(s) and therefore assume all risks and hazards incidental to such participation, including but not limited to the risk of serious harm or injury as a consequence of undetected physical conditions on any playing ﬁeld or surface, negligence of any instructor or intentional conduct of any other participant. I understand that any sports activity poses inherent risks to healthy individuals and further certify that my child is in good physical condition with no known factors that would preclude him/her from participating in vigorous physical activity and hereby consent to his/her participation. On behalf of my child and family, I freely and voluntarily agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Greenwich Board of Education, Parkway School, Parkway School PTA, the Greenwich PTA Council, and their respective administrators, contractors, volunteers, and instructors from any and all liabilities arising from any incident relating to my child’s involvement and participation in the Parkway School’s PTA-sponsored AFTERS programs. Furthermore, I agree that, should I be late more than twice picking up my child, he/she will be supervised at the school and I will be charged $30 per child per half hour (or part thereof) late. If you are excessively late your children will be asked to not participate for the remainder of this session.
In signing this waiver, I acknowledge that the nurse’s hours do not cover the times when Parkway PTA Afters classes are being held and that the Parkway PTA / Parkway monitor does not have access to the nurse’s medications. I understand that I must supply an additional set of allergy medication or inhaler and emergency care plan for Afters. If there is no medication left with an emergency care plan and an emergency arises, the Monitor will call 911.
MEDICAL NOTE: Please be advised that the school nurse is on duty until 3:15 pm only. The nurse’s hours do not cover the times when Parkway PTA Afters classes are being held.
The Parkway PTA / Parkway Monitor does not have access to the nurse’s medications. You must supply an additional set of allergy medication or inhaler and emergency care plan for Afters. It is the responsibility of the Parkway PTA Afters Instructors and the Parkway Monitors (who are NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED) to handle any medical emergency. A ﬁrst aid kit is available, and any medications provided by parents specifically for Afters will be kept in a locked drawer in the office, available for use by the Instructors and the Monitors. If you have a child with special medical needs (severe food allergies, asthma, etc.), it is YOUR responsibility to convey this information to the Afters Coordinator, since this information is considered conﬁdential and therefore cannot be passed on by the school nurse or staff. If there is no medication left with an emergency care plan and an emergency arises, the Monitor will call 911.
